M.A. 'Jake" Aikin, age 64, died September 23 in a Wichita Falls Hospital.

Funeral Services were conducted Monday, September 25, at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnnie Haney, minister, officiating. Interment was in Electra Memorial Park.

He was born Oct 5, 1924 in Red River County, to Charley and Durell Aikin. He and Irene Baldwin were married November 6, 1948 in Clarksville, Texas. He had lived in Electra since 1985 moving here from Quinlan, Texas. He was a retired rancher, and had owned and operated Aikin Service Station in Grand Prairie, Texas for 20 years. He was a member of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association and Texas and Oklahoma Cattle Raisers Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Electra.

Survivors include his wife, Irene of Electra; two daughters, Mary Day and Wilma Lalk, both of Electra; One grandson, Brandon Day of Electra; Two granddaughters, Lucenda Day and Nicole Lalk, both of Electra; two brothers, C.H. "Pete" Aikin of LaGrange, Texas and Andrew Aikin of Fort Smith, Arkansas, four sisters, Mildred Penick of Lawton, Oklahoma, Edna Kimberling of Wylie, Texas, Bessie Crocker of Houston, Texas and Charlene Grimes of Texarkana, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Electra._

Irene Aikin, age 91 of Electra, Texas, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 in the Electra Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Rev. Bob Lee of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Irene was born April 2, 1925 in Idabel, Oklahoma to the late William Marvin Baldwin and Agnes Lucinda Porton Baldwin.

She graduated from Spring Hill High School where she excelled in volleyball.

Irene and Jake Aikin were married November 6, 1948 in Clarksville, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 23, 1989.

Irene, along with Jake, was the co-owner and operator of Aikin Shamrock Station in Grand Prairie until they retired in 1980. She then raised registered longhorns, buffalo and Yorkshire pigs.

In 1987, they moved to Electra where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Irene was known for her "hot rolls" among her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Day and husband Ronnie of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Wilma Lalk and husband Rex of Electra; one sister, Pansy Clark of Fredericksburg, Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon Day and wife Tara of Fate, Texas; Lucenda Day of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Nicole Collier and husband Mark of Stanton, Texas; three great grandchildren, Jake and Wade Day and Cooper Collier; step grandson, Brian Day and wife Amy and their children, Kylie and Cannon of Grand Prairie; two brothers-in-law Andrew Aikin and wife, Thelma of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Pete Aikin and wife Lee of La-Grange, Texas; one sister-in-law, Bessie Crocker of Houston, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

The family suggests memorials to the Electra Senior Citizens Center, 503 West Michigan, Electra, Texas 76360._
