Cause of death: Extensive 3rd degree body burns due to industrial accident (nightwatchman on duty), Highway between Saginaw and Hicks Field.
While "burns due to industrial accident" is the official cause of death, the whole truth is; he left his post to assist at the seen of an accident (this is why the burns were received on the "Highway between Saginaw and Hicks Field" after all how many night watchmen spend their time in the middle of nowhere watching a highway?) Wilburn died from burns received while trying to rescue someone from a burning vehicle.
