Mary Ann
20 March 1833 - 18 April 1858

Tom and Mary were killed in an Indian attack on their farm. Their two sons, 2 year old Alexander, and 6 months old Milton were left alive. Alexander managed to keep them alive for three days by feeding himself and his brother from a butter-churn, the only item left in tact during the attack. Mary's father, Isaac Lynn, having dreamed about his daughter traveled sixty miles just to find Mary's and Tom's bodies, and his two grandsons. Isaac then buried Mary and Tom in a single grave and with his grandsons went to the Cambren or Cameron place, about a quarter of a mile away on Cameron creek, to find more carnage. The Indians had attacked here also, leaving behind three children a 12 year old girl, a 2 year child, and a six weeks old baby). Their six year old brother was taken by the Indians.
