Pauline Jones, 81, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at an Abilene medical center.
Born in Rochester, Texas, on September 21, 1926, Pauline was the daughter of Thelma (Bartley) and Curtis Payne.
She graduated from high school in Haskell, where she married Clyde C. Jones on November 27, 1946. That same year, the couple moved to Abilene, where Pauline was a nurses aide, retiring in 1976 from Shady Oaks Nursing Home after 17 years.
Her husband, Clyde, preceded her in death on November 8, 1986.
Pauline is survived by two sons, Tom Jones of Clyde, and John Kirby of Aurora, Ohio; a daughter, Bessie Friga of Dripping Springs, Texas; a brother, Claude Almand of Burleson, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Belmont Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Gregory officiating. Interment followed in Eula Cemetery directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
