Erma Faye Barr Kemper, beloved Mother and Meme, 93, of Clyde went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, June 20, 2016 in a Baird care center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Matta officiating. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Erma was born April 1, 1923 in Eula to Lloyd and Annie Mae (Jones) Barr.
She graduated as valedictorian from Eula High School and then married Raymond Kemper on July 19, 1941 in Sweetwater. They moved from Abilene to Clyde in 1958. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clyde since 1958. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Shady Oaks Golf Association for many years where she received the Woman of the Year Award.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Williams of Clyde and Sharon Waggoner and husband Butch of China Spring; three brothers, Marion Barr of Colorado, Kenneth Barr and wife Elizabeth of Hamby and Grady Barr of Abilene; two sisters, Cathron Bennett and husband Key of San Marcus and Barbara Cullen of Clyde; five grandchildren, Sharla Swofford Durham, Brian Waggoner and wife Dee Dee, Shelley Swofford, Bradley Waggoner and wife Halle and Brooke Martel and husband Eric; ten great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, Lloyd, Don and Bill Barr and a sister Doris Cusick.
She was a treasure to all of our family and leaves a beautiful legacy.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Clyde United Methodist Church, the Kinder Hearts Home Health Care, 842 N Mockingbird Ln, Abilene, TX 79603 or the Shady Oaks Golf Association.
