CLYDE – Nelta Vunell Lamb, 81, of Clyde, died Saturday, June 25, 2016, at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cherry Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Searcy and Rev. Mike Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nelta was born April 26, 1935, in the Wylie community south of Abilene, to Thomas Jefferson and Muriel Addla (Botts) Searcy.
She graduated from Cross Plains High School.
She married Charlie Lamb December 20, 1952, in Rising Star. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1966.
Nelta was a nurse’s aide for the Abilene State School.
After retiring, she became a home care provider. She was the most faithful member of Cherry Heights Baptist Church in Clyde.
Nelta is survived by two brothers, Marshel Searcy and wife Hattie of Potosi and Coy Searcy and wife Lillian of Potosi; one brother-in-law, Troy Franklin of Abilene; two sisters-in-law, Cathie Nichols Searcy and Doris Searcy Skinner and husband Bob, all of Clyde; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one sister, Jone Franklin; two brothers, Buford and Thomas Searcy; and one niece Beverly Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cherry Heights Baptist Church in Clyde, Texas.
