Clyde, Texas - Iva Dell Lively, 81, of Clyde, went home to meet Jesus on Friday, January 4, 2008.
She was born on April 7, 1926, to P.D. and Alta Mae Conway in Silver Valley. She was outgoing, loving and faced life with a smile. Her laugh was contagious and her sense of humor was dry. She married twice. Her first husband was Arthur Hue Staggs, a decorated veteran of WWII. Her second husband was James Houston Lively. Both preceded her in death.
Iva Dell attended school in Coleman. She worked many years in the dietary departments at McMurry University and Sears Methodist Center in Abilene. After retiring, she volunteered as a Foster Grandparent with the Head Start Program in Clyde. She loved cooking, gardening and playing with children.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, a brother, Gordon Conway of Coleman, and a sister, Martha Barkemeyer of Coleman. She was also preceded in death by three granddaughters, Tonja Gaye Irwin, Tammy Lucille Scott and Jacklyn Rae Hayden.
