Marshall Monroe Hampton, 91, of Gainesville, passed away June 11, 2017 at Medical City Hospital in Denton. Marshall was born November 17, 1925 to James Monroe Hampton and Minnie Lee Morris in Tioga, Texas. He was retired from Aviall Aviation of Dallas as an airplane mechanic. Mr. Hampton served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where his duties included guarding the Enola Gay and participating in the landings at Guam and Saipan. He loved fox hunting and raising beagles. Marshall had two siblings, Clayton Leroy Hampton and Lucille Garland who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Juanita Holley Martin; daughter, Marsha Martin of Sachse; two grandchildren, Toni Connell and Matthew Wiss of Sachse; one stepson, Ernest Martin of Gainesville and his two sons Brandon Martin of Gainesville and Dustin Martin of California; and many nieces and nephews. Marshall was a member of The First Christian Church in Gainesville. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Mark Loewen officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Mt. Springs. No formal visitation is planned.
