Services for Mr. Floyd Kelly Carpenter, 66, of Omaha were Friday, March 23, 2001 at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Nolan Richey, Rev. Glen Griffith and Rev. Glen Moore officiating. Mr. Carpenter was born January 28, 1935 in Omaha. He died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 in Texarkana. He was a retired employee of Red River Army Depot, a member of the Concord Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Omaha. Survivors include his wife, Carol Higgins Carpenter of Omaha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Katy Carpenter of Omaha and Floyd and Vanessa Carpenter of Gilmer; four grand-children, Zachary Carpenter of Omaha, Brittany Carpenter, Christopher Carpenter and Olivia Carpenter of Gilmer; three brothers, Velta C. Carpenter of Cookville, James M. Carpenter of Naples and Charles L. Carpenter of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Maxine Keene of Omaha and Pauline Barfield of New Boston and a number of nieces and nephew. Interment was at Concord Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews James L. Carpenter, Craig Carpenter, Dane Carpenter, Clay Higgins, Thomas Higgins, Aaron Holman, Mark Knight, Ronnie Hicks and friend Norman Harwood. (SoSec N, Row 1, Lot 5)
