Long time Gainesville resident Elmo Frost passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center at the age of ninety-four. He was born in Wilson, Oklahoma on September 10, 1922 to George and Eula Mae (Troop) Frost. Elmo moved to Gainesville in 1939. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII. Upon returning from his military service, he joined First Baptist Church Gainesville in 1946 and had remained a faithful member for over seventy years. He was employed by Dr. Pepper for thirty-three years in route sales. Elmo was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, was a Shriner and member of the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed gardening and was known county-wide for his tomatoes. He liked RVing and was a member of the Holiday Rambler Club. He spoke at local schools about World War II.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 3rd at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Langley, church pastor officiating assisted by Harold Bowles. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Leftwich, Larry Smith, David Reed, Travis Neal, Steve Day and Eddie Hadlock. Members of Elmo’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary bearers. Family visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the service. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville.

Survivors include his wife, Tulu Frost of Gainesville; sons and their wives, Bill and Rita Frost of Justin, Dan and Linda Frost of Sanger and Jack and Debbie Frost of Gainesville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step-daughter and her husband, Jane and Ron Martin of Gainesville and step-son and his wife, Hal and Janie Hickerson of Arlington. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Belle Frost; daughter, Nancy Frost; granddaughter, Jaclyn Frost; parents, George and Eula Mae Frost; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mary Belle Frost, 83, of Gainesville are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Hubert Wright, Minister of Senior Adults at First Baptist, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Roye, Malcom Foster, Jody Henry, Steve Boone, Mike Murphree and Allen Bryan.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-3 p.m. prior to service.

Mrs. Frost passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Gainesville, August 21, 1925 to Guy N. and Amanda (Goff) French. Mary Belle worked at Gainesville Memorial Hospital for 23 years as an LVN. She was also known for her birthday and wedding cakes and also her Dr. Pepper Cake.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo Frost; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Rita Frost, Dan and Linda Frost, Jack and Debbie Frost; grandchildren, Michelle and Ralph Trietsch, Brian and Heather Frost, Jacob Frost, and Jared Frost; great-grandchildren, Will and Casey Trietsch and Tyler Frost; sister, Polly Faulkner and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Clarice French.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amanda and Guy French; brother, Richard French; daughter, Nancy Diane Frost and granddaughter, Jaclyn Frost Teagarden.
