Services for Herbert Royce MELOTT, 78, of Gainesville, TX are set for Monday, August 16, 1999 at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bennie SLACK, minister of First Baptist Church of Gainesville officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, TX
Mr. MELOTT was born July 19, 1921 in Macomb, OK to Charles and Ethel DEEN MELOTT . He married Helen WHITT in Lindsay, OK May 26, 1951. Mr. MELOTT died August 13, 1999 at Gaineville Memorial Hospital, Gainesville, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Helen MELOTT of Gainesville, TX; brother J. C. MELOTT of TX and sisters Wanda CONNALLY of TX and Pauline DAVIS of OK.


Helen Ophelia Melott, 95, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. She was born on January 20, 1923 in Foster, Oklahoma to J.A. Whitt and Henny May (Skaggs) Whitt. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, Texas. Dr. Bennie Slack will be conducting the service. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville. She was a school librarian and after retirement volunteered her time to the church library. Helen married Herbert Royce Melott on May 26, 1951, in Lindsay, Oklahoma.

She is survived by brother Paul and wife Lucy of Eagle Town, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Bob Whitt Patrick Eugene Whitt and sister Edith Tannehill.
