Ray Guy Estes of Gainesville, TX was born November 13, 1934 and passed away August 3, 2017. He was born to Jasper Guy and Florence Johnson Estes and had one sister, Norma Jane Estes.
Ray Guy grew up in Gainesville where he married Laverna Richardson and had 4 sons; Steven Guy, Graden Kyle, Randall Lee, and Glenn Ray. He took over the family business, Estes Exterminating, that was started by his father in 1934. He eventually turned the company over to his son, Glenn Ray, in addition to his son, Kyle Estes, starting a branch of Estes Exterminating in Granbury, TX. Both Glenn and Kyle continue to grow the successful legacy built by Ray Guy and his father. He married Carol Ann Bumpus in 1995 and they lived happily in Gainesville until her death in 2001.
He loved his family dearly, enjoyed and collected all things related to bald eagles, traveling with his beloved friend, Peggy Brown, and loved his church, Westminster Presbyterian in Gainesville, of which he was a charter member.
Ray Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Guy and Florence, sister, Norma Jane, and son, Randall Lee.
He is survived by his sons: Steven and his wife, Rene; Kyle and his wife, Debbie; Glenn Ray and his wife, Tawni; daughter-in- law Kathy Estes; grandchildren Jacob Estes, Jade Shuflin, Dylan Estes, Drew Estes, Cheyenne Estes, Ryland Estes, Krystal Estes, and Kaytland Estes; and 6 great-grandchildren.
