Services for Waunema West, 84, of Gainesville, are set for 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Gainesville with Dr. Mark Denison of First Baptist Church officiating and Rev. J.L. Williams of First Baptist Church assisting. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mrs. West went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2007, at Denton Regional Hospital in Denton.
She was born Nov. 1, 1922, in Marysville to Marion and Mary (Holcombe) Reeves. On Aug. 16, 1941, she married Ray David West in Bulcher. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville, worked over 19 years with Bomber Bait Company, and was co-owner and operator of Reeves and West Grocery for over 25 years here in Gainesville.
Survivors include her husband, Ray West of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Ralph Banks of Gainesville, Judy and Jim Luster of Gainesville, and Pam and Bob Bransford of Gainesville; grandchildren, Brent Banks, Kim Gearner, Vicki Barke, Jennifer Bozarth, Michelle Hacker, Ronnie Abbe, Justin Luster, Amanda Bransford, and Scott Bransford; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ethel Davidson of Gainesville.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
