Services for Milferd Paul Hellinger, 70, of Walnut Bend are set for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Eberhart officiating.

Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Milferd passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 in Plano.

He was born on July 18, 1944 to Peter Hellinger, Sr. and Agnes Krebs Hellinger. He married Betty Jo Ketz on November 25, 1987 and was a well-known painter for 38 years. Milferd enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Hellinger of Walnut Bend, and daughters and spouses, Terra and William Womack of Saint Jo, Sabrina Shugart of Walnut Bend, Cassie and James Fielder of Lake Dallas and adopted stepson Michael Landeros.

He had 10 grandchildren — Colby Calabrese, Joshua Calabrese, Dakota Newton, Dillon Newton, Brittney Hellinger-Sidibe, Brandon Hellinger, Emily Hellinger, Lesliee Shugart, Ryan Shugart, and Chloe Fielder. He had 3 great-grandchildren — Lilly and Evan Calabrese, and Sophia Womack.

Siblings and their spouses include Mary Ann and Lee Tischler of Whitesboro, Nelda Vicari of Montague, Sister-in-law Clara Hellinger of Lindsay, Janice and Steven Yosten of Muenster, Joyce and Tom Yosten of Denton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Peter Hellinger, Sr. and Agnes Krebs Hellinger, wife Lynn Hellinger, son Troy Hellinger, brothers Larry Hellinger, James Hellinger, and Peter Hellinger, Jr., brother-in-law “Billy” William Vicari, nephew Devon Vicari, and niece Jenny Yosten.
