Mother: Susan Melissa Mallone
When James Drew Cartwright was born on October 21, 1890, in Texas, his father, James, was 41 and his mother, Susan, was 18. He married Leola Seelye Smith in 1927 in Wilbarger, Texas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on March 21, 1971, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 80, and was buried in Fargo, Texas.
