Funeral services for John Franklin Harrison, 62, were held at 4 pm, Sunday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel with Rev Frank Oswald officiating. Burial was in Old Zion Cemetery in Tadmor.
Mr Harrison, a resident of Kennard was born August 29, 1912 in Houston County. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kennard and a lifetime resident of Houston County.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs Frank Harrison of Kennard; a son, Johnny Frank Harrison of Crockett; a daughter, Mrs Rebecca Dikes of Lufkin; a son-in-law, LE Dikes of Lufkin; a granddaughter; two aunts, Mrs Idunea Holmes of Kennard and Mrs Annie Kilgore of Crockett.
Pallbearers were James Harrison, John Spinks, Tommy Harrison, Dick Morgan, Preston Morgan, and Arthur McKinney. Callaway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
NOTES: John Franklin Harrison was the son of John Anders Harrison and Missouria Belton Kilgore. He was married first to Eunice Dominy. They had 3 children and divorced. He married Emma Irene Brown January 10, 1934 at the First Presbyterian Church of Crockett, Texas. They were married by Rev Joseph L Spears. Irene was a graduate of Stephen F Austin Teachers College and taught school in Houston County. They lived a number of years in Raymonville, Texas, but moved back to Harrisontown in Houston County about 1956. Jim Tom Ainsworth held graveside funeral services for Irene at Old Zion Cemetery on October 29, 1995.
