When Lillie M Pshigoda/Pschigoda was born on February 24, 1933, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, her father, Julius, was 28, and her mother, Frieda, was 28. She married George Wesley SPENCER on August 5, 1951, in Perryton, Texas. She died on November 27, 2001, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 68, and was buried there.

George Wesley Spencer, 84, long time resident of Carrollton, Texas , died June 14, 2011 of natural causes in rural Coffeyville, KS, where he resided for the last year.
Mr. Spencer was born May 25, 1927, near Lincoln, Nebraska, the youngest child of Leo Asa Spencer and Sarah Edith (Cassens) Spencer. He had two sisters, Dora Blanche (Spencer) Beydler and Ava Nancy (Spencer) Janzen and two brothers, John Robert Spencer and Dean Allen Spencer. Mr. Spencer attended High School in Wichita, KS and worked with his two brothers in the Boeing Aircraft assembly operations there during World War II. The brothers continued farming and their jobs at Boeing throughout the war.

He took up finish carpentry as a young man, and worked most of his career as a home builder, first in small towns throughout the Texas Panhandle, then for decades in the Dallas, TX area, and later in Nashville, TN. He enjoyed travel, church fellowship, and family activities. He was a generous friend and mentor, serving as a surrogate parent and grandparent to countless younger people. He maintained close friendships across miles and decades, enjoying relationships formed in his teenage years until his death.

He is survived by his elder brother, John Robert Spencer of Coffeyville, KS; his daughter Sue Ann Spencer and her husband Rodney Ward of Carrollton, TX; his daughter Gay Lyn Spencer of Philadelphia, PA; his daughter Dorothy Lea (Spencer) Perl of Pensacola, FL; his granddaughter Jean Anne (Carter) Duarte and her husband Eric Duarte of Sadler, TX; his granddaughter Gaela Renee Hall of Dallas, TX; his grandson Steven Lee Cavazos of Santa Rosa, CA; his grandson Thomas Childs of Olean, NY; his granddaughter Chelsea Childs of Olean, NY; his great-grandson Ian Childs of Olean, NY; his great-grandson Noah Antonio Duarte of Sadler, TX; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Pshigoda, in 2001.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 2 pm also at the funeral home with interment to follow at Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton, TX.
