When Dorothy Maye Dowd Maxwell was born on January 25, 1926, in Braman, Oklahoma, her father, Lundy, was 22, and her mother, Velma, was 19. She married on October 20, 1946, in Noble, Oklahoma. She had two children during her marriage. She died on August 3, 2000, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 74, and was buried there.
