He was born March 20, 1926 in Houston County, Texas and was a resident of Crockett all of his lifetime. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was a 50 year Mason and member of the Lothrop Masonic Lodge # 21 A. F. and A. M. Mr. Allen was the owner and operator of Crockett Iron Works. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Crockett where he was a deacon for many years. He died in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas

Mrs. Betty Allen, age 83, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 in the Houston County Nursing Home. Mrs. Allen was born May 28, 1930 in Crockett and was a lifetime resident of Crockett. She and her husband Harold were retired owners of Crockett Iron Works and she was a member of the Central Baptist Church where she taught the JoySunday school for many years.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by parents, Bricker and Cleavie Rials and husband, Harold Allen. Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Allen will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Goodson and Rev. John Goss officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
