When Luther Dansby was born on January 25, 1888, in Kemper, Mississippi, his father, John, was 25 and his mother, Cornelia, was 29. He married Lizzie Anna Hallford on January 23, 1910, in De Kalb, Mississippi. They had one child during their marriage. He died on March 13, 1942, in Big Spring, Texas, at the age of 54, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.
