When Charles "Charlie" Bartlett "C. B." Freeman was born on May 25, 1909, in Breckenridge, Texas, his father, John, was 41 and his mother, Frances, was 22. He married May Pearl Scroggins and they had one son together. He then married Emma Bell Spray and they had one child together. He died on November 7, 1976, in Hobbs, New Mexico, at the age of 67, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.
