Jayton - Opal Jewel Spray, 61, of Jayton died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at her home after a long illness. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church, directed by McCoy Funeral Home in Aspermont.
The Rev. A. D. Stewart of Duncan, Okla., will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Bobby Argo, pastor. Burial will be at the Double Mountain Cemetery.
Born July 31, 1922, in Stonewall County, she married Clyde Spray Aug. 24, 1940, in Aspermont. A housewife, she moved to Jayton about 13 years ago. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Cecil of Aspermont and Dennis of Jayton; three brothers, J. A. Criswell of Ballinger, Maymond Criswell of Odessa and Gene Crisswell; a sister, Corine Crab of Odessa; and six grandchildren.
Pall bearers will be Paul Stone, Bill Williams, Jim Roby, Zane Roy Chism, J.R. Smith and Bill Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Raldo Goodall, Gordon Cheyne, Bib Childress, Bill Stone, Gordon Hamilton, Billy Williams and Howard Clements.

When Clyde Leroy Spray was born on August 9, 1917, in Pushmataha, Oklahoma, his father, James, was 42 and his mother, Nora, was 28. He married Opal Jewell Criswell on August 24, 1940, in Stonewall, Texas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on May 2, 1995, in Jayton, Texas, at the age of 77, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.
