When Gideon Carlise Brister was born on December 28, 1886, in Attala, Mississippi, his father, Wiley, was 24 and his mother, Rebecca, was 24. He had two children with Ethel Brister. He died on August 16, 1962, in Hamlin, Texas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.
