Obituary
Mrs. Emily Moore Died At Gause Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Moore, of Gause, who passed away Monday evening at 10 o'clock after a long illness, were conducted at the Gause cemetery, where interment took place, at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Moore, who had passed her seventy-third birthday, was born in Angelina County, Texas, but had lived the major portion of her life in the Gause community, where she was well known and greatly beloved.
She was a member of the Methodist church, her membership being of long standing, but the fact that four ministers, not all of the same denomination, officiated at her funeral, evidence her broad views of the Christian life.
Mrs. Moore's husband, C. C. Moore, passed away four years ago. Surviving her are three sons, Don and B. V. Moore, of Crystal City, and Charlie Moore, of Gause; one daughter, Mrs. Oala Gause, of Gause. Mrs. W. H. Ely and Mrs. Mollie Thorpe of Hearne are her sisters.
Relatives from Hearne attending the funeral were Mayor and Mrs. W. H. Ely, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Ely, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Ely, Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Ely, Mr. and Mrs. Purvis Ely, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Henry, Mr. and Mrs. Knox Tidwell, Mrs. C. B. Thames, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Moss, Miss Elsie Ely and Mrs. William Erwin, of Houston, visitor at the W. H. Ely home.
Hearne friends with the group of relatives were Rev. C. E. Bullock, Mrs. C. E. Bullock, Mrs. H. C. Nash, Mrs. R. H. Whitaker, Mrs. O. C. Pullin.
Mrs. Emmett Ely and Mrs. Homer Collier of Goodland were others joining relatives here.
