When Joseph Charlie "Dickie Joe" Rash was born on October 27, 1891, in Eastland, Texas, his father, James, was 20 and his mother, Fannie, was 18. He married Jewel Rosetta House on March 20, 1912. They had nine children in 16 years. He died on June 5, 1967, in Aspermont, Texas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.

When Jewel Rosetta House was born on September 23, 1894, in Winder, Georgia, her father, William, was 32, and her mother, Alice, was 26. She married Joseph Charlie "Dickie Joe" Rash on March 20, 1912. They had nine children in 16 years. She died on June 21, 1993, in Aspermont, Texas, at the age of 98, and was buried in Peacock, Texas.
