When Cynthia Jane Lay was born on September 29, 1880, in Bosque, Texas, her father, Isaac, was 43, and her mother, Amelia, was 30. She married Jess C Lay on September 15, 1898, in her hometown. They had 11 children in 19 years. She died on February 11, 1919, in Peacock, Texas, at the age of 38, and was buried there.
