When James Edwin Hannon was born on September 3, 1882, in Wetumpka, Alabama, his father, George, was 24 and his mother, Mary, was 23. He married Katherine Demaris Land on September 10, 1914, in Erath, Texas. They had three children during their marriage. He died on May 5, 1955, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 72.
