SMITH, Almarie Brady Almarie Brady Smith was born on February 18, 1929 in Cameron, Texas and passed away on September 16, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Almarie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Abner Brady; mother Esther Hilsberg Brady; stepmother, Louise Brady Highers; brother Charles Brady Jr. and husband, Lester Goree Smith. Almarie is survived by daughter, Becky Long and her husband Richard Long; son, Steve Smith; grandson Rich Long and wife Kelly; great- grandchildren Kylie and Cartter; grandson, Ryan Long and wife Sarah;great- grandchildren Brady and Kendall; grandson,Brett Long; brother Ed Brady; Sister-in-law, Dixie Brady; sister, Andrea Brady and families of Ed & Dixie Brady and Andrea Brady. Almarie graduated from Cameron Yoe High School, class of 1946. Class secretary, voted by her classmates as "Best All-around Girl". Almarie attended Texas Women's University. Almarie married Lester Goree Smith on April 17, 1949 in Cameron TX. She supported his Chamber of Commerce career in Cameron, Conroe and Brazosport prior to moving to Richardson, TX in 1967. Loving wife and mother. Almarie was a sports editor for the Cameron Herald, correspondent for Houston Chronicle. Administrative assistant for ten years for Region X, Education service center in Richardson, TX.She was the original coordinator for Leadership Richardson. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church (Chapel) at 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX, 75080. Burial at a later date at Lilac Cemetery in Milam County, TX.
