When Ruth J. Franks Borchardt was born on September 3, 1909, in Galveston, Texas, her father, Charles, was 29, and her mother, Mattie, was 24. She married Alvin Lee Borchardt on October 1, 1932. They had two children during their marriage. She died on January 3, 1999, in Richardson, Texas, at the age of 89.
