Norma Jean Kilman, 31, was born May 14, 1941 in Vernon, Texas, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gaebler. She married Kenneth Kilman September 24, 1964 and he was killed in a car wreck in 1966 in front of the family home. She attended Lockett High School and was a member of the Lockett Baptist Church. She drowned Sunday in Red River below Denison Dam along with her son Kenny, age 5. Mrs. Kilman had recently moved to Denison and had been fishing with her son from a sandbar and had started back to shore when the swift current pulled them under. Her body was recovered on Sunday while her son's was recovered on Monday. Jeannie was a good person, a hard worker and a devoted mom. Survivors include her mother; three brothers, Max and Jerry, both of Vernon and Orval of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Joe Ogle and Cathy Durr both of Denison. She was preceded in death by her husband and her father. Joint funeral services for Mrs. Kilman and her son were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Henderson-Fields Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Delmar McBeath, pastor of Lockett Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Wilbarger Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Stanley Garrett of Dallas, Jerry Barton of Seymour, Emmett Decoure of Wichita Falls, G.A. Shivers and Walter Max Gaebler of Vernon and Jake Wisdom of Thalia. Jeannie and Kenny were buried together in the same casket, together in death as they had been in life.
