Graveside services for Ena Bess Gatewood, 97, of Seminole will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Gaines County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Josh Gatewood officiating. Services will be under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.
Ena Bess was born February 23, 1921 in Wilbarger County, Texas to Robert E. and Maude E. O’Keefe. She married Harvy Gatewood on April 9, 1944 in Lubbock and they moved to Gaines County in 1955. She was employed as a bookkeeper for more than 25 years for Dunn Delenting and later Barrett Potato Farms, and was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. Ena Bess was preceded in death by her husband, Harvy Gatewood in 1994, a daughter, Sherry Gatewood in 1991, a grandson, Jason Kinkaid in 1996, and five sisters.
Ena Bess is survived by one son, Dan Gatewood and his wife, Carol of Midland; one daughter, Jo Kinkaid and her husband, Jack of Guadalupe Mountains; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
