Vernon, Texas-Frank M. "Buddy" Coker, 80, died Sunday in a Vernon hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilbarger Memorial Park with the Rev. Lee Crouch, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Coker was born Feb 8, 1913, in Mart, Texas. He and Polly Taylor were married in 1985. A former Vernon resident, he lived in San Antonio 12 years before moving to Wichita Falls. He was manager of Southwestern Drug Company for 32 years. After retiring, he moved to Vernon in 1984. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, two step-children, Kenya Jurma of Arlington, Texas , and Arthur B. "Hoppy" Taylor of Vernon; three sisters, Adine Wright of San Angelo, Dixie Johnson of Lubbock and Lasca Jones of Mexia, Texas; and five step-grandchildren.

When Frank M. Coker was born on February 8, 1913, in Mart, Texas, his father, Richard, was 32 and his mother, Zilpha, was 30. He married Vernila Belle Taylor on July 11, 1985, in Wichita, Texas. He died on May 2, 1993, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 80, and was buried there.
