Eunice Baggett of Vernon, 101, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 in Vernon. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday Oct.4, 2010 at Wilbarger Memorial Park with the Rev. David Fox officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Baggett was born on Feb. 9, 1909 in Eagle Flat, Wilbarger County. She was the daughter of William Edward (W. E.) and Mary Kalista Smith Anthony. She married R. B. Baggett on May 14, 1933. He preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1957. She lived in Wilbarger County most of her life. She was a member of Wilbarger General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she was involved in a number of church activities. She worked with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts over the years. She ran the family business, Baggett Glass shop, and also worked at Fields Laundry. She was a homemaker.

Baggett is survived by one daughter, Mary Baggett Acton of Missouri City, Texas; four sons, R. B. Baggett of San Dimas, Calif.; Lee Baggett and John Baggett, both of Vernon; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday Oct. 3, at Sullivan Funeral Home. Memorial smay be made to the Wilbarger General Hospital Auxiliary.

Eunice Anthony was born on February 9, 1909, in Wilbarger, Texas. She married Rudolph Bennett Baggett on May 14, 1933, in her hometown. They had six children during their marriage. She died having lived for more than 100 years. She died on October 1, 2010, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 101, and was buried there.
