Obit:
During a blizzard on February 4, 1940, Lincoln Eugene Booth was born to Lincoln and Ione (Bruce) Booth in Shattuck, Ok. This baby boy was tagged with the name Gene which his family and friends called him all of his life. Gene passed from this life May 22, 2013, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Gene grew up on the Bradford Ranch, later known as Booth Ranch near Lipscomb, TX. He attended school at Higgins, Follett, and Canadian quitting during his 9th grade year. The love of ranching and farming was a big part of his life and he always had a great cattle herd. Also being engaged in custom hay work, he spent many hours pleasing his customers with a great hay crop. He was known far and near for his ability to put up hay.

At the age of 19, he married Donna Lowder, and to this union one son, Bradford Lynn, was born. He later married Janet Farrow and to this union two sons, Kevin Wayne and Micheal Eugene, was born. On February 18, 1973, Gene married Lovella Fern Mason in Arnett, OK. To this union two children, Quentin Dean and Melinda Mae, was born.

In 1976, Gene partnered with H. J. Houser on his first race horse. Horseracing was the biggest joy he had going. He never missed a race if he had a horse running for many years. He certainly was not happy when he didn’t get to go and his family knew to stay out of the line of fire when this happened. Gene and Lovella, with the help of Brad, Mike and Quentin, raced horses for twenty plus years, being in the breeding business as well.

Gene loved his family, but did not show his affection most of the time, however, he loved taking his kids snow skiing and golfing when they were younger. Many good times were had on the slopes in Angel Fire, NM. Gene and Lovella really enjoyed just going out in ;the summer and having a round of golf for several years. When the kids got old enough they joined in on some of these outings.

Gene was excited when he became “Papa” to Matthew Lynn Booth, followed by Dustin Wayne Booth, Terrance Lee Booth, Macy Lovella Wall, and Mason Garth Wall.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Lincoln and Ione Booth, one son, Bradford Lynn Booth, mother and father-in law Raymond and Dorothy Heinsohn, three brothers-in-law,Carl Summers, Linden Laubhan, and Robert Heinsohn.

Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife, Lovella, of the home; sons Kevin Boothe of Kissimmee, Florida, Mike Booth of Woodward, Oklahoma, Quentin Booth of Lipscomb, Texas; one daughter Melinda Wall of Evant, Texas; grandchildren Matthew Booth of Amarillo, Texas, Dusty and Terrance Booth of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Macy and Mason Wall of Evant Texas; great-grandchildren Malachi Booth of Amarillo, Texas, Mia Melendez of Littlefield, Texas, and Drake Booth of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two sisters Carolea Summers of Lefors, Texas, and Wilma Laubhan of Bushland, Texas; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
