Funeral services for Opal Grass, 85, of Lubbock formerly of Seminole were conducted Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Seminole. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. She passed away Friday, July 19 in Lubbock.

Opal was born November 10, 1933 in Lamesa to John Thomas and Vernie Ethel Plumlee Bell. Opal and Paul Grass were married June 30, 1955 in Seminole, Paul preceded her in death May 25, 1997. Opal was employed by Seminole Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years and in Medical Records for 30 of those years before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Grass in 1997, a sister Oma Seay and a brother Charlie Bell.

Opal is survived by her son Mike Grass and wife Sara of Brookshire; her daughter Debbie Grass of Lubbock; a sister Edwina Faulkner of San Antonio; along with three grandchildren Jill Scarborough, BenjaminEspinoza and Matthew Grass; five great-grandchildren Taylor, Christian, Jaxon, Aaron and Addison.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Cal Farley Boys Ranch, 600 S.W. 11th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101-3228.
