Funeral services for Anna Bell Smith, 99, of Seminole were conducted Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the M.S. Doss Community Chapel with the Rev. Shane Landers officiating. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.
Ann was born September 23, 1916 to William and Sara Eggleston in Denton. She married O.B. Smith December 24, 1933 in Lamesa. They moved to Seminole in 1948. Ann was a homemaker, member of the First Baptist Church and the Martha Sunday School Class. Ann was a founding member and life member of the Seminole Garden Club, the Coffee Club and the Llano Estacado China Painters.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband O.B. Smith, a son Dean Smith, a daughter Melba Hughes and granddaughter Kaci Fairchild. Ann is survived by a daughter Kay Gay of Seminole; a son-in-law Joe Hughes of Taylor; grandchildren D’Ann Blackmon, Mark Hughes, and Jerry Hughes, and seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren
