Funeral mass was recited for Verna Ebberts, 72, of Seminole Tuesday at 10:30 am in St. James Catholic Church with Father Paul Kariekatt officiating. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. Mrs. Ebberts passed away January 23, 2016 in Lubbock.

Mrs. Ebberts was born December 17, 1943 in Walsh, Colorado to Tommy Wright and Ellen Erickson Wright. Mrs. Ebberts was retired from the USDA as a meat inspector. She was a member of the Cherokee Nation and enjoyed painting and sports. Mrs. Ebberts moved to Seminole in 2005 and was a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ebberts in 2004; a daughter Darla Salazar in 1982 and three brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Royce Hendrix of Aztec, NM and Casey Salazar of Seminole; one daughter Marcia Reed & husband, Bryan of Seminole; one brother, Michael McCarney of Texhoma, OK; seven grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gaines County Senior Center at P.O. Box 834, Seminole, Tx. 79360.
