When Gerhardt Alvin Schulz was born on February 23, 1890, in Warda, Texas, his father, Christian, was 27 and his mother, Magdalena, was 24. He had three sons and two daughters with Emma Clara Marie Schoppa between 1914 and 1922. He died on February 25, 1961, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
