When Karl Albert Zoch was born on January 26, 1899, in Fayette, Texas, his father, Traugott, was 19 and his mother, Anna, was 20. He married Lydia Esther Reinhardt on February 8, 1925. They had three children during their marriage. He died on May 29, 1993, in Harrold, Texas, at the age of 94, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
