Services for Mrs. Lura Davis Walker, 98, of Omaha were Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at Alexander Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Mrs. Walker was born May 15, 1903 in Omaha. She died Sunday, December 9, 2001 in Mt. Pleasant. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Omaha and a longtime resident of Omaha. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Lorene Davis of Omaha; two nieces, Sarah Moreland of Omaha and Kay Hawkins of Huntsville and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Walker and three brothers, Guy, Carl and Obie Davis. Pallbearers were J. L. Waits, Thad Lee Hall, Toby Culver, Ray Thigpen, Johnny Joyner and Bud Joyner. Interment was at Concord Cemetery. (Row 1 NW)

Willie Walker of Amarillo died there Sunday afternoon. He had lived in Omaha and DeKalb for many years but had made his home in Amarillo for the past few years. Survivors include his wife, two brothers, J. E. Walker of Tahoka, Texas, and L. C. Walker of Hughes Spring; three sisters, Mrs. Aubrey Robison of Naples, Mrs. Donna Combs of Midland and Mrs. Rudolph Jones of Omaha; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Omaha with the Rev. Clifford Longino and the Rev. Clarence House officiating. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery near Omaha under the direction of Hanner Funeral Home.
