A graveside service for Mildred Houston Hagan, 84, of Brownfield will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Seagraves Cemetery in Gaines County, TX, with Ernest Smith officiating.
Mildred passed away at home on July 12, 2020. She was born on December 5, 1935, to Kennon James and Bessie Houston on their family farm in Loop, TX. She graduated from Loop High School and lived in Loop, Seagraves, and Brownfield. Mildred married Richard W. Hagan, Jr. on November 25, 1955, and they shared 54 years together before he passed away in 2010. Over the years, Mildred worked for the Henny Penny Meat Department, Bandy’s Grocery, Martin’s Meat Market, and Revco. She was a member of the West Tate Church of Christ and was a part of the Brownfield community for 40 years.
Mildred loved her family and displayed pictures of them all over her house. She always had pets of some sort to keep her company, and she even fed the neighborhood cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kennon and Bessie; her husband, Richard Hagan; her son, Cass Hagan; and her son-in-law, David Marshall.
Mildred is survived by a daughter, Laura Hagan Marshall of Canyon; a son, Daniel Lee Hagan and wife Angie of Buena Vista, GA; granddaughters, Jennifer Pryor of Canyon, Celeste Widner and husband Reuben of Georgia, and Deana Yarbrough and husband CJ of Georgia; a grandson, Brian Hagan of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Sierra Campbell and husband Logan and Deven Pryor all from Canyon, 9 others in Georgia; and a brother, Don “Little Boy” Houston of Park Springs.
