She was born to James Colquett and Addie Mae (Jones) Dowis.
She worked for Marlin Manufacturing for 35 years as a seamstress. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Addie Dowis; husband, Hanford Clark; three sons, Jimmy Sutton, Larry Sutton and Tommy Pierce; daughter, Linda Shippman; grandson, Ray Pierce, sister, Edna Sullivan and brother, Jack Dowis.
She is survived by her five children, 39 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sister, Ava and numerous nieces and nephews.
