MARIAN ELSIE (ALEXANDER) WEBB was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on May 1, 1923 to Theron Alexander and Elsie Rouse. She passed away on July 20, 2008 in Houston, Texas following a long illness.
Raised in Connecticut, Marian joined the US Navy in 1943, where she served her country as a radio and Morse Code instructor until she met and married her husband of 55 years, Joe "L" Webb. Following their discharge from the Navy, they moved to west Texas and eventually they moved in 1957 to a farm 3 miles east of Denver City where they lived until ill health forced them to move to Houston in 1995.

Marian was an active volunteer with the Pink Ladies Hospital Auxiliary of Denver City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Denver City where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and served in various positions including President of the United Methodist Women. In Houston, she became an active member of the Cypress United Methodist Church of Cypress, Texas, participating in C.A.P.S. (for Seniors), the Military Support Group, the Wesley S.S. classes, and The Gathering Place for Parkinson's patients and families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe "L" Webb and survived by two children, Joyce W. Aguirre and John L. (Jack) Webb both of Houston; 6 grandchildren – Rebecca Shrout of Arlington, TX, Russell L. Braden (USN) of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Dustin W. Braden, Jennifer W. Farquhar, Jared L. Webb, all of Houston and Justin L. Webb, of Denver City, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Cypress United Methodist Church 13403 Cypress North Houston Rd. Cypress, TX 77429 , on July 24, 2008 at 6:30 PM.

A funeral service will be held in Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Denver City, Texas, 79323 on July 26,2008 at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Gaines County Cemetery of Seagraves, Texas. Members of the family serving as pallbearers will be Justin and Jared Webb, Russell and Dustin Braden, John and Steven Shrout.
