Viola Bertha Schumann, 89, of Vernon died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Neuberger officiating. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.
Mrs. Schumann was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Gus Herman Schumann of Vernon; two sons, Gus Walter Schumann of Clifton, Texas, and George Ernest Schumann of Roundrock, Texas; a sister, Evelyn Schumann of Burkburnett; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating will be Rev. Paul Neuberger. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park.

Gus was born Wednesday, August 29, 1917 in Harrold, Texas. He was the son of the late Charlie Schumann and the late Mary Walbrick Schumann. He married Viola Koenig on February 26, 1942 in Frederick, OK., she preceded him in death on January 26, 2006.

He moved from Harrold to Vernon in 1947. He served in the US Army WW II as a Sargent serving in field artillery and mechanic. Member of Vernon VFW and he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a driver for Crown Quality Feed and Seed. He was manager at Grain Elevator in Dumas returning to Vernon working for Vernon State Hospital in Maintenance Dept.

He is survived by Two Sons Gus W. Schumann & Wife Diane, Granbury, TX. George E. Schumann & Wife Mary, Round Rock, TX. Two Brothers Edd Schumann, Vernon, TX. Marvin Schumann, Vernon, TX. Six Grandchildren David & Brandi Schumann ,Leah Schumann Mollie & Robert Crone Kyler & Marrika Schumann John & Paula Schumann Susie & Michael Hawkins. Thirteen Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sister Alma Gregory, Edna Ryan
Five Brothers Alvin, John, Charles, Walter and Dan Schumann

Visitation will be Thursday, at 2:00 PM till service time at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church

Pallbearers will be David Schumann, Kyler Schumann, John Schumann, Robert Crone, Michael Hawkins, and Ed Buesing

When Gus Herman Schumann was born on August 29, 1917, in Harrold, Texas, his father, Charles, was 30 and his mother, Mary, was 25. He had two children with Viola Bertha Koenig. He died on April 30, 2012, in Crowell, Texas, at the age of 94, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
