When Ernest Earthman was born on August 17, 1893, in Van Alstyne, Texas, his father, Albert, was 25 and his mother, Maud, was 20. He married Earlia Mae Hewatt on April 30, 1917, in Sulphur, Oklahoma. They had four children in 12 years. He died on March 4, 1979, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 85.
