When Elmer Ben Graf was born on May 6, 1913, in Wilbarger, Texas, his father, Emil, was 25 and his mother, Hulda, was 18. He had two children with Emily Marie Schur. He died on October 1, 2009, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 96, and was buried there.
