When Fred Dedson Thomas was born on February 2, 1903, in Arkansas, his father, Balaam, was 30 and his mother, Sarah, was 28. He married Hazel Boone on January 27, 1926. They had three children during their marriage. He died on February 4, 1971, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 68.
