Wife of Ponciano Elizarde Montalvo
Hortencia Montalvo, 87, passed away on April 14, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born to the late Eusebio Peña and Lydia Cuellar on May 26, 1926 in Laredo, Texas.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; she loved spending time with her family at the Ranch in Goliad, TX. She will always be known for her kindness and beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio and Lydia C. Peña; brother, Rudolfo Peña of Laredo, Texas.

Hortencia leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 61 years Ponciano E. Montalvo; her children, Juan Oscar (Diana) Montalvo; Norma M. Cardenas, Nora (Tommy) A. Rios of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Lydia (Antonio) P. Diaz of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Ben Cardenas, Natasha Rios, Arisa (David) Larios, Travis Rios, Alina Cardenas and many nieces and nephews.

Special Thanks to all the people who watched over her and Special Thanks to Angel Bright Hospice Staff for being so wonderful to her; and her husband Ponciano who was at her side during her illness these last two years.
Interment to follow mass at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Rios, Travis Rios, Mandy Cardenas, Ben Cardenas, John Pena and David Larios. Honorary Pallbearer is Charles Diaz of Seattle, WA.
