September 12, 1935 - November 25, 2017
Maria Alvarez Cardona, 82, of Mathis was called home to our Lord Saturday, November 25, 2017.
Maria was born September 12, 1935 to Reynaldo and Celia Alvarez, Maria was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She married the love of her life, Asael (Chel) Cardona Jr. and together found the true meaning of love.
Maria is survived by her 3 children, daughter Hilda Carranza of Mathis, sons Hector (Lupe) Cadona of Mathis, and Rudy Cardona of San Antonio; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at Sacred Heart Church in Mathis, Texas at 9:30 AM, Friday, December 1, 2017; A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. Roy Kalayil officiating.
Burial will be Monday December 4th at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas at 11:00 AM.
