Funeral services for Olivia JONES, 13, and her brother, Brad JONES, 15, the children of Gene and Glenda JONES of Darrouzett, were held Monday, April 1, at the Booker School Auditorium, with Rev. Gary McDonald officiating. Burial was in Darrouzett Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. The two young people died in a car accident in Lipscomb County on March 28.
Olivia was born Nov. 5,1982 in Beaver, OK. She attended Darrouzett Elementary School and was a student at Booker Junior High. She was active in basketball, track, cross country, baseball, softball, art and writing. For the past two years she had received the U.S. Achievement Academy Award. She was also involved with the Booker Christian Church Youth.
Brad was born June 5, 1980 in Shattuck, OK. He had attended Darrouzett Elementary and was a student at Booker High School. He was involved in weightlifting and high jumping, as well as art and music.
They are survived by their parents, Gene and Glenda JONES; two brothers, Oliver Eugene "J.R." JONES III of Bremerton, WA and Jay W. JONES of Darrouzett; one sister, Donna DUNN of Darrouzett; and their grandparents, Buddy and Virginia MEYER of Darrouzett.
